Damage & Damage Policy

The transport industry faces several challenges. The number of damages is increasing, as are the costs of workshop visits and repairs related to damages. In particular, height damages have become more common, which often leads to extensive downtime and high costs. This development has meant that many insurance companies are gradually raising deductible levels – something that affects the entire industry.

Our view of claims management

As a rental company, we want to meet these challenges in a way that creates security and fairness for our customers. Therefore, from the start, our goal has been to work with a transparent and sound claims management policy. We know that it is sometimes difficult to draw a clear line between normal wear and tear and actual damage. Therefore, we let common sense and dialogue guide us. Our experience is that we can almost always reason our way to a solution that both parties perceive as reasonable.

When assessing damage, we always take into account the age and condition of the vehicle. We never charge more than our actual cost – No surcharges or hidden fees.

When it comes to damages that may involve insurance companies, we primarily try to handle the matter at a level where deductibles do not need to be considered (for information on applicable deductibles, see our general terms and conditions). In the event of minor damage to the counterparty’s vehicle or property, we actively work to help the lessee keep costs down. If the damage can be settled without the insurance company’s involvement, it often leads to a more cost-effective solution.

This service is a natural part of our offering and one of our most important success factors. Our ambition is that it should always feel safe, easy and predictable to rent vehicles from us – Even in an industry where damages and costs are unfortunately a growing challenge.
